We Live and Breathe Music

Pulmonary Sound

Coheed and Cambria @ Agora (5/10/23)

I’ve seen Coheed and Cambria once prior to last night, it was in Pittsburgh late last Summer. The previous show I decided to cover on a whim. I wasn’t super familiar with the music but I just had a feeling it was going to be an amazing show. I’m glad I took that leap, and that initial jump is what lead me to Agora again last night.

Coheed is one of the most technically proficient bands I’ve ever heard live. Their sound, light show, Claudio Sanchez’s voice, their visual marketing, everything, is just so damn impressive. Even if the music isn’t your thing, it’s hard not to have respect for the technical aspects of their performance. Throughout the concert I often found myself totally caught up in the theatrics of it, which was a very enjoyable place to be.

Something that I observed at both Coheed shows I’ve seen is how devoted their fanbase is. During my time in the photo pit I turned around a few times to see everyone screaming along to every word. I see this at a lot of shows, but this felt different. It felt like everyone was in the experience together in a way.
