Coheed and Cambria @ Stage AE (8/1/2022)
Something I learned about Coheed and Cambria Monday night, the fans that love Coheed LOVE Coheed. The night started out rainy, with possible thunderstorms in the forecast. But that didn't stop fans from piling into the outdoor lawn at Stage AE in Pittsburgh, splitting time between waiting inside, and watching the openers Mothica and Alkaline Trio. Luckily for the fans, the rain died off when it came time for Coheed and Cambria to come on stage, but I believe everyone would have endured enthusiastically even if the rain continued. Coheed is on tour for their newest project, Vaxis – Act II: A Window of the Waking Mind, a continuation of a nine album conceptual storyline about space, family, love, revenge, and pretty much everything in between. There are rumored to be three more albums to be released for this story line, so it's not too late to get caught up. The stage was adorned with a lit up “keywork” symbol, the primary one the band uses, and a blow up huge animal like horned figure. The light show followed the rhythmic tunes, in all shades of the rainbow. The crowd sang and danced with each tune that came up. It ended up being a clear warm night, unlike what was originally forecasted, which was made all the more perfect by Coheed and Cambria’s rocking tunes.
If you'd like to catch Coheed and Cambria, there are a few weeks left for their US tour. Between the light show, the lead singer Claudio Sanchez's striking voice, and the energy of the fans I highly recommend doing so if you can!
