Shakey Graves @ Agora (11/16/23)
Shakey Graves was known early on for his distinctive one-man band setup, and I was happy to see him stay true to his roots during the show last night by playing almost half the set by himself. It's hard to imagine a single person filling the sonic space of Agora Theatre but Alejandro Rose-Garcia had no difficulty. Vulnerable, but powerful, Shakey Graves makes you feel every word that he sings. It comes from his soul, and transports right into yours.
I've been a fan of Shakey Graves since 2015. I have so many memories of driving around my home town with his music on repeat. I was still listening on an iPod touch back then, plugged into my car with an aux cord. The world felt very different, but one thing that remained is how captivated I am with Alejandro's talent. I hope to see him in concert again, as soon as possible.
