We Live and Breathe Music

Pulmonary Sound

Yungblud @ Jacobs Pavilion (7/11/23)

The evening started out with Games We Play, a pop punk band based out of LA, that brought an authentic and cool vibe to the stage. Their performance consisted of original songs along side a fun take on "Mr. Brightside." The lead singer, Emmyn Calleiro, had a strong connection with the audience, and just oozed authenticity. The overall summarizing word I would have for Games We Play is, cool. And the crowd thought so too, with a lot of people arriving early to the show to see them. I would definitely go out of my way to see them again next time they're in town!

Following them, The Regrettes, a punk band hailing from LA, took the stage. Their music exuded a funky and carefree atmosphere, resonating with the audience. The band members interacted seamlessly with the crowd, fostering a lighthearted ambiance. The Regrettes' set was characterized by a joyful and playful tone, leaving a positive impression on the listeners.

After the opening acts, the stage crew got ready for Yungblud's set. Around 9:30 on Tuesday night, thick white smoke engulfed the stage as Yungblud emerged, dancing his way to the front of the stage. He started the show by playing "21st Century Liability," with the crowd passionately singing along to every word. Yungblud's energy was remarkable, sprinting from one end of the stage to the other without showing signs of stopping. Throughout the set, he regularly engaged with the audience, connecting with the fans. Halfway through the show Yungblud played "fleabag" and the crowd went insane. I saw people as young as 10 and as old as 70 singing along to Yungblud's music. I thought that was really cool, and not something I see often.

Yungblud is currently on his World Tour, and there are still plenty of dates to catch a show!
