Opeth @ Agora (10/12/24)
October in Cleveland has been filled with non stop metal / rock shows, and Saturday was a special treat. We wrapped up the week with two Swedish bands stepping on stage at the Agora — Opeth with support from Tribulation. Tribulation is a doom goth band with death metal influence, whereas Opeth gets inspiration from prog, jazz, classical, and some folk. Both bands go back and forth between soft vocals and deep metal growls, keeping you on your toes. Opeth formed in 1990 and have released 13 studio albums to date. They are currently on their North American Tour and are releasing a new album titled “The Last Will & Testament”. coming out November 22th.
During their show Saturday evening they played heavy classics such as “Ghost of Perdition” to soft songs like “In My Time of Need”. The Agora was packed between the floor and balcony with fans, with everyone kept on their toes by the intense performance and light show. Their North American tour is currently into heading into Canada before making their way back into the States, and there are plenty of opportunities to catch a show this month! Go see them if you can!
