Livingston @ House of Blues (11/6/24)
LA-based artist Camylio opened up the show on Wednesday evening at House of Blues Cleveland. Singer, songwriter, producer, and Tiktok star, Camylio has a lot going for him, and he showed the crowd exactly what he's made of. With a sweet and nervous smile, he started by playing some of his original songs, and went into a cover of "Someone Like You" by Adele. Multi-instrumentalist, Camylio played guitar for some songs, and piano for others, all the while singing in a strong and emotive voice. He's definitely an artist to keep on your radar. I expect to be seeing him coming around again in the near future!
Our headliner Livingston was up next, and while I waited for him to come to the stage I looked around the room to appreciate all the fans in attendance. I saw some younger people in the crowd, and I suspect there were a decent amount of fans that were attending their first ever concert that night. I too attended my first concert at House of Blues many years ago, so it was nice to share that with some fans in the crowd. When the show started, the audience sang along to every word to each song Livingston played. At times, the crowd was so loud it sounded like they were a backing track to the performance I was watching in front of me. And as cooperative as the crowd was, Livingston gave it right back to them by regularly interacting with fans. At one point towards the middle of the set, Livingston came down from the stage and to the barricade where he sang an entire song face to face with the fans. Livingston has really captured the act of performing in a way that makes the fans feel included, and I can't wait to see where else he goes throughout his career.
