Mt. Joy @ Stage AE (6/28/22)
“It's been 13 days since Mt. Joy began their 'Orange Blood' tour, and only 12 since the album of the same name was released on Island Records. On day 10, in-between Columbus and Cincinnati, the band made a stop in Pittsburgh to leave the crowd begging for an encore at the end of their performance at Stage AE. They opened with the first single off the new album, "Lemon Tree," followed by "Jenny Jenkins," and "Let Loose" (one of my personal favorites). From there, they bounced between tracks off their self-titled album and 'Orange Blood', though halfway through the set they blew everyone's minds with a cover of "Fire on the Mountain" by Grateful Dead. Hit after hit, Mt. Joy ended the night with a three-song encore that closed with fan-favorite "Silver Lining." After Pittsburgh, the Orange Blood tour will lead them to Des Moines, IA and a performance at Milwaukee's Summerfest. Mt. Joy will take a short break and then you can find them on and off the road for what appears to be scheduled through November when they finish with a three-day residency at Stubb's Waller Creek Amphitheater in Austin, TX. Bottom line - if you missed them in Pittsburgh, you have many opportunities to see them coming up, so don't sleep on them!”
