Jeffrey Cruz @ Mahall's (6/26/22)

Local musician Jeffrey Cruz played for a loving audience at Mahall’s main stage last weekend. After encouraging the crowd to stand up and get close, he began his set with six cover songs that got the crowd moving and singing along. This is Jeffrey’s first time playing Mahall’s main stage, and the show is in support of his new EP “When It All Falls Down”. Half way through his short cover set, Jeffrey brought his Mom on stage to sing Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely” to her with the assistance of the crowd. She beamed with pride, sending a palpable positive feeling throughout the room.

After a short intermission, Jeffrey then went on to play his new EP in entirety with a bonus unreleased recent track. The tunes were a beautiful mixing of love songs, and songs that spoke on loss, played with a jazzy full band. Looking to the crowd with appreciation, Jeffrey told everyone that years ago him and one of his bandmates played the basement at Mahall’s and promised to someday play the mainstage. The day had come for this goal to come to fruition, and it couldn’t have gone off more perfectly. Make sure to check out Jeffrey Cruz’s new EP on Spotify.
