Northlane @ The Roxy (7/3/24)
I just couldn't believe the energy at Northlane’s stop at The Roxy on their Mirror’s Edge tour. Featuring an all-Australian setlist, the lineup was stacked with Windwaker, Thornhill, Invent Animate, and of course, Northlane. When I rolled up to the venue at 6 p.m., the parking lot was already packed, and there was a line snaking around the building. This was right when the doors were opening, but even in the sweltering mid-80-degree heat, everyone was hyped and ready to claim their spots. I've heard three of the four bands before, but everyone had me blown away with their mix of clean vocals and screaming. The whole crowd was on their feet, and by the end of each set, there were folks crowd surfing through the venue. It was wild to see Northlane headlining on this tour, since it was only just last September I saw them opening for another all-Australian show that hit Cleveland. I love the idea of a lineup full of bands from a single country, touring in another one. Showing off so much variety and style within the same genre and origin. Northlane still has shows on their U.S. tour, so make sure to catch them when they come to a city near you!
